Sept 21 9am-6pm
45634 Lone Fir Road Halfway, Oregon
(¾ of a mile from downtown Halfway)

Join the folks from Oak Tree Ranch (Pam and Marvin Brisk) as well as Hedge Rose Farm (Amari Fauna and Chloe Flora) for a day of fun and amazement as we display and demonstrate some rare horse powered equipment.
If you’ve ever wondered how they did things before motorized equipment became so widespread, then this event will satisfy some of those curiosities! We’ll have a number of teams of horses on hand to show you first hand how some farm tasks were done in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
This is a free event and is open to the public.
Donations are gratefully accepted to offset the cost of putting this event on.

Amenities
A concession stand will be on site thanks to the folks from our local Pine Valley Grange! Bring some cash and grab a burger or hot dog and soda.
Camping and Accommodations
For visitors: Limited dry camping is available on site. Other area accommodations include Mamaste Bed and Breakfast, the Pine Valley Lodge, Halfway Motel, and Halfway RV Park.
For friends and family: Please contact Pam or Amari. We have a number of rooms, campers, wall tents, and shepherd’s wagons to put you up in.
Accessibility
This event is taking place outdoors on a working farm. The ground may be rough or uneven in places, but is generally navigable by wheelchair or walker. We will have some off-limits areas roped or fenced off.
Shade canopies will be present around the grounds. Bring your own chair. Restroom facilities will include a porta-potty.
There are three noisy but friendly dogs on site as well as free-range chickens. Most of the demonstrations will involve draft horses that will be moved through the area. Use common sense and proper caution around the live animals. Supervision of children is required at all times. Please leave your own pets at home as not all of the horses are pet friendly (and many pets are not horse friendly).
For Teamsters and Volunteers
We will be directly contacting a select group of teamsters to bring additional horses/mules to this event. Due to the specialized nature of some of the equipment, this is not an open invite event.
We will gladly accept help from our friend and family volunteers to run this event and to help with the demonstrations. Please confirm with Pam or Amari.
We will provide food for teamsters and volunteers starting with Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast.
